\nA fort\u00adnight ago we moved into our new home. We have heard that the peo\u00adp\u00adle of Seon have com\u00admen\u00adted that they are ama\u00adzed at what this house has beco\u00adme. Befo\u00adre the reno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adon, it was a 35-year-old house. It\u2019s clear that the rava\u00adges of age have taken their toll. It is the impe\u00adris\u00adha\u00adble, eter\u00adnal life, recon\u00adci\u00adled with God, with ones\u00adelf, with fel\u00adlow human beings, with the oppo\u00adsi\u00adte sex, with crea\u00adti\u00adon, etc. It is the abun\u00addant life that the Hebrews descri\u00adbe with the word Shalom.
\nEas\u00adter means that Jesus is the vic\u00adtor over death, which came as a result of the fall of man\u00adkind in the Gar\u00adden of Eden. \u00abDeath was swal\u00adlo\u00adwed up in vic\u00adto\u00adry. \nSome peo\u00adp\u00adle belie\u00adve that it is not important whe\u00adther Jesus was phy\u00adsi\u00adcal\u00adly resur\u00adrec\u00adted. They argue that Jesus\u00bb body decom\u00adpo\u00adsed in the tomb and only his per\u00adso\u00adnal core was rap\u00adtu\u00adred into the pre\u00adsence of God. It is high\u00adly rele\u00advant that Jesus was bodi\u00adly resur\u00adrec\u00adted. \u00abBut if Christ has not been rai\u00adsed, your faith is use\u00adl\u00adess, and you are still trap\u00adped in your sins\u00bb (1 Corin\u00adthi\u00adans 15:17 NLB<\/span>).
\nAfter his resur\u00adrec\u00adtion, Jesus appears com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly unex\u00adpec\u00adted\u00adly in the cir\u00adcle of his fri\u00adends. \nWhen we are in hope\u00adl\u00adess, despe\u00adra\u00adte and panic-stri\u00adcken situa\u00adtions, Christ also wants to meet us in the fle\u00adsh as the Risen One and not just in the ima\u00adgi\u00adna\u00adti\u00adon, not sim\u00adply meta\u00adphy\u00adsi\u00adcal\u00adly uni\u00adma\u00adgi\u00adnable, but very concretely.
\nIn doing so, Jesus utters four memo\u00adrable words: \u00abPeace be with you\u00bb (John 20:19 NLB<\/span>). A week later He con\u00adfirms the\u00adse words (v.26). Jesus did not bring peace in a gene\u00adral and dif\u00adfu\u00adse way, but very tan\u00adgi\u00adble, very con\u00adcre\u00adte, phy\u00adsi\u00adcal\u00adly tan\u00adgi\u00adble and gras\u00adpa\u00adble. \nThe phi\u00adlo\u00adso\u00adphers of anti\u00adqui\u00adty sepa\u00adra\u00adted rea\u00adli\u00adty into the lower mate\u00adri\u00adal and the hig\u00adher spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal. \nAfter his resur\u00adrec\u00adtion, Jesus can walk through walls with his body. Sud\u00adden\u00adly he was stan\u00adding the\u00adre. Just as sud\u00adden\u00adly, he dis\u00adap\u00adpeared. As Mary Mag\u00adda\u00adle\u00adne looks at the emp\u00adty tomb, wee\u00adping, she turns away and sees a figu\u00adre. It is Jesus, but she thinks it is the gar\u00adde\u00adner (John 20:15). Jesus also bears the wounds of the cru\u00adci\u00adfi\u00adxi\u00adon on his resur\u00adrec\u00adtion body. Tho\u00admas makes tou\u00adch\u00ading the wounds a con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adon for belie\u00adving in the risen Christ. Becau\u00adse of this touch, he falls down befo\u00adre Him and cries out, \u00abMy Lord and my God!\u00bb (John 20:28 NLB<\/span>).
\nThe new resur\u00adrec\u00adtion life is not the demo\u00adli\u00adti\u00adon of what has gone befo\u00adre, but has a refe\u00adrence back to and a con\u00adti\u00adnua\u00adtion of very important ele\u00adments of what had hap\u00adpen\u00aded befo\u00adre. The old is trans\u00adfor\u00admed into the new \u2013 like our house on the Mos\u00adte\u00adrei\u00adweg. For Jesus, his earth\u00adly body was not a cos\u00adtu\u00adme that he put on for the time on earth and then was hap\u00adpy when he could final\u00adly get rid of it. With this, Jesus, as the resur\u00adrec\u00adted one, affirms his pre\u00advious phy\u00adsi\u00adcal\u00adi\u00adty. Not only our soul, but also our body is important.
