Jona\u00adthan is a man \u2013 unli\u00adke his father King Saul \u2013 who lives God\u2019s dreams through his faith. In the face of for\u00admi\u00adda\u00adble supe\u00adrio\u00adri\u00adty, he makes the decis\u00adi\u00adon to pur\u00adsue God\u2019s goals. Jona\u00adthan makes it clear that initia\u00adti\u00adve and risk-taking are spi\u00adri\u00adtual\u00adly valuable and neces\u00adsa\u00adry qua\u00adli\u00adties. Around 1000 BC<\/span>, Israe\u00adli\u00adte tri\u00adbes had elec\u00adted Saul as king. At that time, the Phi\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adnes were their main ene\u00admy. Per\u00adhaps the LORD<\/span> will do some\u00adthing for us, for it is not hard for the LORD<\/span> to help by much or litt\u00adle\u00bb (1 Samu\u00adel 14:6 Lut).
\nWhat a kami\u00adka\u00adze enter\u00adpri\u00adse! If Jona\u00adtan had loo\u00adked at the cir\u00adcum\u00ads\u00adtances, he pro\u00adba\u00adb\u00adly would\u00adn\u2019t have gone ahead. The name Jesus (yes\u00adhua) is deri\u00adved from the Hebrew word for help (jascha): God helps us through the cru\u00adci\u00adfied and risen Jesus. Jona\u00adthan was wil\u00adling to die for the cau\u00adse he was con\u00advin\u00adced was right. Vic\u00adto\u00adry over the Phi\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adnes was a pro\u00admi\u00adse just wai\u00adting to be clai\u00admed. Jona\u00adthan was so con\u00adfi\u00addent that what he was doing was in line with God\u2019s pur\u00adpo\u00adses that he nee\u00added not\u00adhing more than a sign that said, \u00abGo on.\u00bb
\n\u00ab \u00abGood,\u00bb Jona\u00adtan said. \u00abWe\u2019ll go over to the men and show our\u00adsel\u00adves to them. If they say to us, \u00abStay whe\u00adre you are until we are with you,\u00bb we stop and do not go up to them. But if they say, \u00abCome up to us,\u00bb we go up. Let this be the sign of the Lord, that he will help us to defeat them.\u00bb \u00bb (1Samuel 14:8\u201310 NL<\/span>).
\nJona\u00adthan embo\u00addi\u00aded the heart of God and went for\u00adward in accordance with God\u2019s pur\u00adpo\u00adses. It was as if God had given fle\u00adsh and blood to his pur\u00adpo\u00adses. Ins\u00adtead of ika\u00adbod wai\u00adting under the pome\u00adgra\u00adna\u00adte tree for a sign, he went ahead as best he knew how. How dif\u00adfe\u00adrent would our lives be if we star\u00adted from a huge YES<\/span> and not a huge NO<\/span>? Even wit\u00adhout a spe\u00adci\u00adfic invi\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon, we are never wit\u00adhout a mis\u00adsi\u00adon or cal\u00adling. Every fol\u00adlower of Jesus has the prime direc\u00adti\u00adve to repre\u00adsent his Lord on this earth. Often when we cla\u00adim that we are wai\u00adting on God, He is actual\u00adly wai\u00adting on us. Let\u2019s remem\u00adber, Adam and Eve could have made count\u00adless good choices in para\u00addi\u00adse. The\u00adre was only one bad opti\u00adon. May\u00adbe we think we don\u2019t know God\u2019s will. I feel that my life is not enough to do all that God asks me to do in the Bible. Put your skis in the direc\u00adtion of God\u2019s goals and give sub\u00admis\u00adsi\u00adon. Make the decis\u00adi\u00adon to trust Jesus com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly and be bap\u00adti\u00adsed! Give a sign of hos\u00adpi\u00adta\u00adli\u00adty to the migrants in your neigh\u00adbour\u00adhood! Love your spou\u00adse! Have the con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon that is coming up! Tell your work col\u00adle\u00adagues about Jesus! You are not cal\u00adled to be a sur\u00advi\u00advor, you are cal\u00adled to be a con\u00adque\u00adr\u00ador. Jona\u00adthan tea\u00adches us to attack the grea\u00adtest chal\u00adlenges head on ins\u00adtead of run\u00adning away from them.
\n\u00abWhen the two of them show\u00aded them\u00adsel\u00adves to the Phi\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adne posts, the Phi\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adnes shou\u00adted, \u00abLook! Jona\u00adthan unders\u00adtood the enemies\u00bb war\u00adning as a sign from God that he should go on. Not\u00adhing could stop him from going for\u00adward and doing what was right. He defied the unfa\u00advoura\u00adble cir\u00adcum\u00ads\u00adtances and fear.
\nDivi\u00adne victory
\n\u00abThey clim\u00adbed up on hands and feet. Then the Phi\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adnes reboun\u00added in front of Jona\u00adthan and his armour-bea\u00adrer, wal\u00adking behind him, kil\u00adled them. So in this first attack Jona\u00adthan and his armour-bea\u00adrer kil\u00adled about 20 men in half a fur\u00adrow of a yoke of field. Then panic bro\u00adke out in the army of the Phi\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adnes \u2013 both in the camp and in the field, among the guards and the assault tro\u00adops. His gre\u00adat con\u00adcern is that His work be accom\u00adplished out of weak\u00adne\u00adss. That is why he often does not allow us to be strong. The pro\u00adblem with strength is that we \u2013 like Saul \u2013 for\u00adget God, which pre\u00advents bles\u00adsing and victory.
\n\u00abThen the Phi\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adnes recoiled from Jona\u00adthan.\u00bb When we go for\u00adward with God, con\u00adflict ari\u00adses with many other forces. The king\u00addom of God can only expand in con\u00adflict with the king\u00addom of dark\u00adness. Decisi\u00adve, God-given moments abound for peo\u00adp\u00adle who are wil\u00adling to absorb the initi\u00adal impact. Jona\u00adthan went with God, and God went with Jona\u00adthan.
