\nNo man is good
\n\u00ab \u00abWhy do you call me good?\u00bb Jesus repli\u00aded. \u00abOnly God is good, no one else\u00bb \u00bb (Mark 10:18 NG\u00dc<\/span>). No one is good \u2013 except God. The\u00adre are no righ\u00adteous and good par\u00adents, the\u00adre are only nor\u00admal sin\u00adners. Yet we want to be good fathers and mothers. We start paren\u00adthood with the con\u00advic\u00adtion that we will do very well, cer\u00adtain\u00adly bet\u00adter than our own par\u00adents did. And then we find our\u00adsel\u00adves fai\u00adling just as much and \u00abthro\u00adwing out\u00bb the same sen\u00adten\u00adces as they did. We all have imper\u00adfect sin\u00adful imprin\u00adting. We all car\u00adry father and mother wounds. Per\u00adhaps our father was emo\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly cut off or trau\u00adma\u00adtis\u00aded. We come from a situa\u00adti\u00adon that is not per\u00adfect and start out as peo\u00adp\u00adle who are them\u00adsel\u00adves broken.
\nYou too will not be the per\u00adfect parent and hurt your child\u00adren. The mes\u00adsa\u00adge is: you have a sin\u00adful natu\u00adre and so do your child\u00adren. We need redemp\u00adti\u00adon through Jesus Christ. It is only the cross of Jesus that gives us the pic\u00adtu\u00adre to the per\u00adfect father. We need to learn from the per\u00adfect father what edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon means. He is the only source from which we can love child\u00adren into life. The goal is not to be per\u00adfect par\u00adents, but for our child\u00adren to learn to go to God the Father as we go to HIM<\/span>. We can set an exam\u00adp\u00adle for them by taking them along the way.
\nThe\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfo\u00adre, the basis of all edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon is that we take care of our own sto\u00adry. You beco\u00adme a who\u00adle, rela\u00adtio\u00adnal per\u00adson when you face your own shadow sides and hurts \u2013 the pain\u00adful ele\u00adments of your sto\u00adry. It\u2019s high time to stop tal\u00adking in terms of what is nor\u00admal and ins\u00adtead go to Jesus with our imprints.
\nWe need heal\u00ading. Pre\u00adcis\u00ade\u00adly becau\u00adse of what Ste\u00adphen Cor\u00advey says: \u00abThat which you are screams so loud\u00adly in my ears that I can\u00adnot hear what you say.\u00bb It is not enough for us to say the right thing. The child\u00adren do what they see us do. Only Jesus can chan\u00adge us from the inside.
\nGod is the per\u00adfect father
\nWhen we talk about paren\u00adthood, we have to start from the only per\u00adfect father. It is gre\u00adat that God pres\u00adents hims\u00adelf as a father. This means that the sub\u00adject of paren\u00adthood has a huge digni\u00adty. Child\u00adhood, paren\u00adthood and edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon are among the most important the\u00admes in the Gos\u00adpel. The crea\u00adti\u00adon sto\u00adry shows us the cha\u00adrac\u00adte\u00adristics of this fatherhood:
\nGod as Father\u2026
\n\u2026wants you to be YOU<\/span>. God crea\u00adtes human beings; name\u00adly Adam and Eve. He did not crea\u00adte copies, but deli\u00adbera\u00adte\u00adly dif\u00adfe\u00adrent per\u00adsons. He wants you to be at all and you to be YOU<\/span>. God could have said, \u00abI exist, I am per\u00adfect, what more do I want?\u00bb Many mar\u00adried cou\u00adples don\u2019t want child\u00adren at all becau\u00adse they don\u2019t want to put them\u00adsel\u00adves through that stress and their lives are alre\u00ada\u00addy fil\u00adled enough. God crea\u00adted human beings even though he knew that they would do a lot wrong.
\n\u2026 is in char\u00adge. God has no pro\u00adblem with his posi\u00adti\u00adon and announ\u00adces the rules of the game at the very begin\u00adning. God loves uncon\u00addi\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly, but also makes a clear announce\u00adment. He wants us to obey.
\n\u2026 loves uncon\u00addi\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly. Adam and Eve are sim\u00adply the\u00adre and have not yet achie\u00adved any\u00adthing, yet God says: \u00abYou are very good!\u00bb God delights in the fact that they are just the\u00adre. God the Father loves you uncon\u00addi\u00adtio\u00adnal\u00adly too!
\n\u2026 edu\u00adca\u00adtes to per\u00adso\u00adnal respon\u00adsi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty. God puts Adam and Eve in a gar\u00adden with a for\u00adbidden tree. Ima\u00adgi\u00adne: You put some\u00adthing in front of your child that he likes and say, \u00abYou must\u00adn\u2019t do that!\u00bb Total\u00adly mean? Or good trai\u00adning? If you eat from this tree, you will die.\u00bb Some\u00adti\u00admes par\u00adents want to spa\u00adre their child\u00adren ever\u00ady\u00adthing. They don\u2019t learn to act on their own respon\u00adsi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty becau\u00adse they are never con\u00adfron\u00adted with the con\u00adse\u00adquen\u00adces. God allows us to reap fruits of our beha\u00adviour. Not becau\u00adse he is evil, but becau\u00adse he loves and edu\u00adca\u00adtes us.
\n\u2026 always gives them ano\u00adther chan\u00adce. In the end, they blow it. Throug\u00adhout sal\u00adva\u00adti\u00adon histo\u00adry, God always gives indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adals or his who\u00adle peo\u00adp\u00adle a new chance.
\n\u2026 is always true to his word. One of the main state\u00adments in God\u2019s Word is: What I say, I real\u00adly do. How deep the hurt is in child\u00adren when par\u00adents do not stand by their word and are not reliable.
\n\u2026 con\u00adfronts sin. Some\u00adti\u00admes child\u00adren do bad things and lead a wild life. The\u00adre are fathers who say: \u00abAh, yes, go ahead. We were all young once!\u00bb Pro\u00adba\u00adb\u00adly a child hard\u00adly feels loved. God is not a stuf\u00adfed ted\u00addy bear who does\u00adn\u2019t care what we do. A real father says, \u00abYes, I am your father and I know what you are made of. You are living below your level, the\u00adre is more to it.\u00bb This is how Jesus con\u00adfronts sin in our lives.
\n\u2026 speaks iden\u00adti\u00adty. Throug\u00adhout the Bible we encoun\u00adter a God who gives iden\u00adti\u00adty to his peo\u00adp\u00adle or indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adals: \u00abYou are the plan\u00adting of the LORD<\/span>\u00bb (Isai\u00adah 61:3). \u00abYou are my peo\u00adp\u00adle, I am your God\u00bb (Jere\u00admi\u00adah 30:22). \u00abBut you, Isra\u00adel, are my ser\u00advant\u00bb (Isai\u00adah 41:8). \u00abYou are a roy\u00adal priest\u00adhood, God\u2019s holy peo\u00adp\u00adle\u00bb (1 Peter 2:9). One of the most important things par\u00adents can do is to give their child\u00adren an identity.
\nThe\u00adse points are the pro\u00adgram\u00adme for the edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon of our child\u00adren. And Hea\u00adven\u00adly Father wants all this for you too \u2013 no mat\u00adter how imper\u00adfect or hurt you are.
\ndisci\u00adpli\u00adna\u00adri\u00adan or father?
\n\u00abFor if ye had ten thousand disci\u00adpli\u00adna\u00adri\u00adans in Christ, yet not many fathers.\u00bb (1 Corin\u00adthi\u00adans 4:15 Elb). Paul distin\u00adgu\u00adis\u00adhes bet\u00adween disci\u00adpli\u00adna\u00adri\u00adans and fathers. The Greek word for disci\u00adpli\u00adna\u00adri\u00adan pai\u00add\u00adago\u00adgos is other\u00adwi\u00adse only used in the Bible for the law. He does\u00adn\u2019t walk away, but lives rela\u00adti\u00adonship and says: \u00abYou are in a dif\u00adfi\u00adcult situa\u00adti\u00adon: reign over sin!\u00bb God wants Cain to learn self-con\u00adtrol \u2013 the abili\u00adty to not always see hims\u00adelf as a vic\u00adtim of cir\u00adcum\u00ads\u00adtances. The world is full of pedago\u00adgy that does\u00adn\u2019t want that.
