\nWel\u00adco\u00adme home to all tho\u00adse who are back from their holi\u00addays. Hop\u00adeful\u00adly you have many hap\u00adpy things to tell. Hop\u00adeful\u00adly ever\u00ady\u00adthing was just right: the wea\u00adther, the food, the excur\u00adsi\u00adons, the bed, the tog\u00ade\u00adther\u00adness as a fami\u00adly, as a cou\u00adple, or among fri\u00adends! After the best holi\u00addays, coming home is also some\u00adthing very nice for many: the fami\u00adli\u00adar four walls again, the fami\u00adli\u00adar bed again, the fami\u00adli\u00adar food again \u2013 it\u2019s all so nice. Ever\u00ady\u00adthing is right: the wea\u00adther, the accom\u00admo\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon, the food \u2013 but then, during the holi\u00adday pro\u00adgram\u00adme, it hap\u00adpens. Mum wants to read, dad wants action. The inte\u00adrests are so dif\u00adfe\u00adrent. They all have their own needs. And now? Who wins? The stron\u00adgest? At first you swal\u00adlow emp\u00adty; then the first frus\u00adt\u00adra\u00adting words fall \u2013 and final\u00adly it gets hef\u00adty! In fami\u00adlies with child\u00adren, this situa\u00adti\u00adon is almost pre-pro\u00adgrammed \u2013 the more child\u00adren, the more ide\u00adas, ide\u00adas and hopes\u2026 and sud\u00adden\u00adly the mood is in the toi\u00adlet! \u00abI\u2019d real\u00adly like to go home again!\u00bb \u2013 \u00abIt stinks, I always have to do what the others want\u2026\u00bb Dif\u00adfe\u00adrent hopes and expec\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons col\u00adl\u00adi\u00adde\u2026 That hap\u00adpens in the best holi\u00addays!!! \nIt is often said of holi\u00addays: anti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adti\u00adon is the grea\u00adtest and most beau\u00adtiful joy! Why do they say this? We can ima\u00adgi\u00adne it so beau\u00adtiful\u00adly in advan\u00adce\u2026 We want to have a lot of time on holi\u00adday: to sleep in, to relax, to enjoy, to do things\u2026 we are real\u00adly loo\u00adking for\u00adward to it! We have high hopes and our expec\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons grow from day to day befo\u00adre our depar\u00adtu\u00adre. And sud\u00adden\u00adly we are pre-pro\u00adgrammed by our ide\u00adas! Why? Becau\u00adse we know exact\u00adly what we want!
\nIt\u2019s exact\u00adly the same in ever\u00ady\u00adday life. I don\u2019t want to address the issue only in rela\u00adti\u00adon to holi\u00addays. The\u00adre are so many things we hope for: That our health will get bet\u00adter. That the situa\u00adti\u00adon at work will chan\u00adge. That we get a bet\u00adter grip on the month\u00adly bud\u00adget\u2026 One or the other is frus\u00adtra\u00adted by the job; they had ima\u00adgi\u00adned the job dif\u00adfer\u00adent\u00adly. They hard\u00adly have any time left for their per\u00adso\u00adnal life; for silence, sports and family!
\nAnd it is simi\u00adlar in the life of faith. We are fil\u00adled with spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal hopes and expec\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons! We have had good con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adons with fri\u00adends \u2013 now we hope that they will come to wor\u00adship one day. We know that God hears our pray\u00aders. Now we expect a cor\u00adre\u00adspon\u00adding respon\u00adse from Him. On the way with Jesus, we hold fast to the pro\u00admi\u00adses of the Bible. It is the\u00adre, black on white\u2026 and again we expe\u00adri\u00adence it dif\u00adfer\u00adent\u00adly and are frus\u00adtra\u00adted. We expect to expe\u00adri\u00adence God in ever\u00ady\u00adday life \u2013 at work, in the neigh\u00adbour\u00adhood, in the fami\u00adly, in the house group, in the church group\u2026 and yet we expe\u00adri\u00adence so little.
\nHoping and expec\u00adting are motors of life: they are in kee\u00adping with crea\u00adti\u00adon and very posi\u00adti\u00adve! God knows about our hopes and He wants us to hope! It is jus\u00adti\u00adfied that we hope. If we no lon\u00adger expect any\u00adthing and stop hoping \u2013 then all is not well with us! Espe\u00adci\u00adal\u00adly when it comes to spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal things. If we give up hope, we distance our\u00adsel\u00adves from Jesus. But we have to stay with him, becau\u00adse we can learn a lot from him. For none of us has expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced any\u00adthing but a simi\u00adlar level of frus\u00adtra\u00adti\u00adon as he did: His fami\u00adly distanced them\u00adsel\u00adves from him. His disci\u00adples behave com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly out of line. The very peo\u00adp\u00adle of God, who should be very clo\u00adse to him, are on the side\u00adlines. Enthu\u00adsi\u00ada\u00adstic fol\u00adlo\u00adwers sud\u00adden\u00adly turn their backs on him.\u2026
\nIn the end, we can real\u00adly ask our\u00adsel\u00adves: Are frus\u00adtra\u00adti\u00adons just as much a part of life as moments of hap\u00adpi\u00adness? How do we cope with moments of frus\u00adtra\u00adti\u00adon in life?
\nRelease frustration
\nBecau\u00adse we can\u2019t stand frus\u00adtra\u00adti\u00adon for long, we have deve\u00adlo\u00adped pseu\u00addo-solu\u00adti\u00adons that we think are effec\u00adti\u00adve and helpful.
\na) The\u00adre is the suppression.
\nFor the sake of peace, we keep quiet and keep ever\u00ady\u00adthing bot\u00adt\u00adled up.
